WHAT IS THE
NEW WORLD SCREWWORM ?
The New World Screwworm (NWS) is a flesh-eating parasite that infests living animals. Female flies lay eggs in wounds as small as a scratch or insect bite. The larvae hatch and feed on living tissue, causing severe injury and potentially death.
NWS infestations occur in livestock, wildlife, pets, and yes… people.
